Filmmakers of today are specialists on how to use sound to create a complete film experience. Sound adds greatly to different effects, reactions and emotions.
Challenge
Designing a cinema so the sound flows at you the way it is supposed to, from the direction it is supposed to – truly enhancing the film´s experience.
Solution
The solution is to minimize reverberation time in all frequencies, and especially in the distortive low-frequency range of 100-200 Hz. This is done by using specific sound absorbers. The solution always needs to be adapted to the specific cinema, but the type of absorbers are the same:
- a wall-to-wall absorbing ceiling with a matt surface (to not create reflections of the images on the film screen)
 - a combination of proper wall construction and wall absorbers that absorb and reflect sound
 - thick, soft absorbers covering the wall behind the film screen
